Musician Needed for new event - Campin' for Critters!
Campin' For Critters is a new adult only fundraiser for the Edmonton Valley Zoo that will be hosted by the Valley Zoo Development Society on Saturday, June 5 2010. Guests will earn the right to camp out at the zoo for a night by raising funds through a pledge process. Everyone reaching the $500 minimum pledge amount will camp out over night and experience a wide range of activities you could only experience at the zoo, hosted by the zoo keepers, the Valley Zoo Development Society board members and of course, the animals. Attracting more than 200 guests from Edmonton and surrounding areas, the event futures:
* Spending the night in a tent on the zoo grounds
* Up close encounters with furry, feathered and scaled animals
* Evening tours and presentations
* Dinner and breakfast for attendees
* Camp fire stories and entertainment
* Surprise events and activities
We are looking for a musician to volunteer to play songs around the camp fire. You would be able to choose your own set list as long as songs are appropriate for all people. You would receive promotion at the event and in the event program, as well as dinner at the event.

Cashiers
(4-6 positions available for this position)
* Must be 18 years and older
* Must be comfortable with math (addition, subtraction multiplication – calculators will be provided)
* Police check background is done for volunteers that handle cash
* Comfortable multi tasking and working in a fast paced environment
* Friendly with guests
Silent and live auction area
* Must be 18 years and older
* Outgoing and friendly personality
* Work in a fast pace environment that will happen in this area at certain times in the event
* Working with Auction chair for required duties as needed
Site set up and taken down
(8 positions available for this position)
* Must be 18 years or older
* Able to assemble a 10X10 campers tent
* Work with a team
* Able to lift items of approx 30 pounds
* Two shifts available – set up from 100pm-430pm and 500pm-900pm
* Other job duties as required for set up and take down
Restaurant liaison
(4 positions)
* Must be 18 years and older
* Must be outgoing and comfortable to talk with restaurant staff
* Will be the liaison for the restaurants to know when they can take down
* Shift will be from 600pm-930pm
* Will ensure during the event that restaurants are always stocked with the plates, napkins and cutlery
* Will be the key contact for the restaurants through the evening.
Ticket sellers (for Crap shot activity)
* Must be 18 years and older
* Outgoing personality and comfortable to approach guests to buy tickets
* Must be comfortable with math and handling cash
* Police check background check done for volunteers who handle cash
* Pleasant and friendly with the guests
General volunteers for ZooFest Event
* We will require a number of volunteers to help with various duties at this event
* Comfortable to walk the entire zoo area throughout the evening event
* Outgoing and friendly as you will be helping guests at the event with directions and information
* Will be various shifts available (please enquire with Valley Zoo Development Society for more details)
All Volunteers will be served a light supper at 530pm. Event starts at 630pm.
All volunteers will be required to attend one of the volunteer orientation sessions for complete details of their job requirements for the evening event.
Volunteers must have transportation to and from the event as there is not good transit service to this location in the evening.
All volunteers must be 18 years and older
